Who I Am
Hi! I'm Garrett and I coach individuals and organizations who want to understand how and why they think, use that to master what they are passionate about, and grow that passion into what they've envisioned. I love coming alongside people who are at the edge of exploring new areas of growth in their endeavors, walking alongside them to help guide and learn with them, and see them flourish.
I provide leadership coaching, science-backed personality training, 1-1 business coaching, and group seminars for training leaders. Using a combination of clinically-proven personality and values psychometric evaluations, real-world experience leading in large and small organizations, continuous improvement strategies, and a pragmatic approach, I can help you see the future of your passions clearly, no matter the scale.
Whether you're an independent business owner working alone toward a dream you want to build, just starting to hire, train, and retain your first set of employees, or you're an established firm who needs help with a major transition, organizational overhaul, or large project, my suite of services can meet any need.
Education
My passion in learning is human behavior and psychology, particularly how and why we think and make decisions. I earned my Bachelors in Psychology from Bethel University in Saint Paul MN, and shortly thereafter earned my Masters in Business Administration for Management. I am grateful my education has given me tools to bring a deep understanding of neurology and human cognition into business environments. Read more about my perspective on that in What I Believe.
Career
The path I have taken in my career has not been linear and I am eternally grateful for that. I have worked, led, and served in environments ranging from cleaning companies to corporate offices, warehouses to retail, churches and charities to sales and marketing. This breadth of experience has given me insight into what works and what doesn't in many realms; management, process efficiency, strategy, product design, data management, and continuous improvement being the highlights. Whether it was in retail sales or driving a forklift or advising and tutoring students or consulting some of the world's largest companies on data migration, I have always been curious and engaged with the same question: "How can we do this better?" That curiosity has cultivated a deep passion for helping people overcome obstacles and master their work.
Personal Life
I am blessed to be a husband and father in a beautiful little family that includes a very good doggo. We volunteer in our church, play as much Dungeons and Dragons as possible, go to concerts and Renaissance Festivals and musicals, and generally just try to help out as much as we can to those around us. I drink far too much caffeine, read nonfiction almost exclusively, listen to everything from classical to hip-hop to metal to trance, participate in powerlifting at my gym, and cook an unhealthy amount of smoked meats.
